October Favorites

I love monthly favorites! These are some of my favorite videos to watch on YouTube. So, in addition to this blog post, I’m sharing my monthly favorites over on my YouTube channel. This way you can see the products as well as read a bit more in-depth about them.

Each month, I gather some of my favorite products to share with y’all. These products range from beauty and lifestyle to clothing and food/drink. I think this style of blog/vlog is fun because it gives people ideas about different things to try. So, without further ado, here are my October monthly favorites.

Book: Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

If you saw last week’s post, you know that I shared this book as my favorite for the month of October. Ugly Love is a beautiful story about two people who have such a strong physical attraction to each other, although they don’t even consider themselves to be friends. Tate Collins and Miles Archer find themselves giving into their mutual physical attraction. However, sex isn’t ever just sex. And when feelings start to get involved, things get messy. This book is filled with love and heartache, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t cry while reading it. This is my first Colleen Hoover read, and I’ve already secured a few more of her books to read in the future. If you’re looking for your next read, check out Ugly Love!

Makeup Item: Ilia Multi-Stick Cream Blush + Lip Tint

I love makeup. The more products, the merrier, in my opinion. However, every now and then I come across a multi-use product that just ticks all the boxes, and that’s exactly what the Ilia Multi-Stick Cream Blush + Lip Tint does. I chose the color At Last, which is a dusty rose shade, and it is stunning. The website describes this product as a buildable wash of color for cheeks and lips. The packaging is convenient too. Makeup in stick form generally is! It comes in an easy-to-use twist-up stick for easy application. I usually place the product high on my cheekbones and blend, and then add it to my lips. It's creamy and feels hydrating too. I love the brand Ilia and use quite a few of their products. If you’ve never heard of Ilia before, it is a clean beauty brand that believes skincare and makeup should be seen as one. Their products are meant to allow your true radiance to shine through. And bonus, they offer several multi-use products that will help keep your beauty routine simple.

Skincare: Pixi Under Eye Patches

If I had to pick only one item on this list for the month of October, these Pixi Under Eye Patches would be it. I discovered these through TikTok earlier this month and decided to try them out. These mighty wonders reduce under-eye puffiness and dark circles as well as moisturize and soothe your skin. For a little extra something, I pop my jar into the fridge, that way when I put them on, they're super cold and refreshing. I don’t know if you’re supposed to do that, but that’s what I’ve been doing, and I love it. There are a few different types you can choose from, but so far, I’ve tried the caffeine and cucumber as well as the ones with collagen.

Food/Drink: MadeGood Chocolate Chip Cookies

I went to Whole Foods hungry earlier this month and found myself in the snack aisle. I remember that shopping trip specifically because I left the store with four different packages of

cookies (smh). As someone who is constantly dieting, I clearly wasn’t thinking this purchase through. Anyhow, one by one I tasted the cookies I purchased. One was a complete disappointment, and one of them was a complete surprise. The MadeGood chocolate chip cookies, oh my heavens, are out of this world! Not only are they organic and nut free, but they also contain vegetable extracts. Delicious, chef’s kiss. Go buy them and thank me later.

Candle: Autumn Harvest by Opalhouse brand from Target

If you’re looking for the perfect Fall scent and aren’t a pumpkin cutie, then look no further than the Autumn Harvest candle by Opalhouse from Target. This candle is made from soy and paraffin wax and has a scent profile of coconut, peach, and cinnamon. It definitely brings a warm and cozy vibe to your space. I’ve gone through two of them this month.

Shower Things: Vitamin C scrub from Tree Hut

I wasn’t initially a fan of adding another step to my shower routine, but I picked up this body scrub on a whim one day at Target. (Because we all know that Target tells us what we need.) I’ve since gone through about three tubs of this scent alone. The Tree Hut scrubs are great for exfoliating your body to reveal soft, glowy, and smooth skin. And the smell! If you’re a citrus cutie, like myself, then you will adore this dreamy, citrusy scent.

I hope you enjoyed reading through my favorite items for the month of October. These are products that I truly love and will continue purchasing in the future. I provided links above for you to check out the items for yourself. If you do try any of these products out and love them as much as I do, leave a comment below or let me know over on Instagram @thymeandwhimsy.

Thanks for stopping by! Until next week :)

March Favorites 2024

Without further ado, I bring you my top items in the following categories for the month of March: books, makeup, skincare, food/drinks, miscellaneous, and shower things. Let's get to it, shall we? Book: The Coworker by Freida McFadden Oddly enough, one of my sixth-grade students recommended this book to me. Suffice to say, she's well-read for her age. This book had me hooked from chapter one. I'm not normally one for thrillers or suspense in stories, in fact, I typically enjoy books on the opposite end of the spectrum. My cup of tea would be of the YA and romance genre, mainly because I'm a big wimp; however, this book may have converted me.  Dawn Schiff is the reliable employee. She shows up to work on time every day and takes her breaks at regularly scheduled times. Like clockwork, her coworkers know where she is at any given moment. Natalie Farrell is Dawn's coworker and desk mate. Natalie is described as the beautiful and popular employee in the office. She is e...

Holiday Gift Guide 2022

When the three wise men brought gifts for the baby Jesus, I honestly don’t think they had a clue as to what traditions they started for Christmas nowadays. I use this reference lightly, as I’m not hugely religious, however, it provides a good analogy to the simplicity of what Christmas once was — a time to spend with loved ones. I like to believe that the gifts were merely a token, a fraction of what these wise men could give to the son of God. But, I digress.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I love to shop! (Especially for myself…) But shopping for others, now that is hard work. People can be so particular and you certainly don’t want to offend anyone with a well-intentioned gift. What was once a simple token of affection is now almost a sport. I play into it every year simply because I love the holidays. And whether the wise men had envisioned our modern traditions is besides the point. We do it because we love our family members and want to show them so through the gifts we buy them. I...

November Favorites

With the end of another month comes another segment of my monthly favorites. I enjoy watching monthly favorites videos because they always inspire me to try something new. I also just enjoy seeing what people gravitate to. So, without further ado, here are some of my favorite things for the month of November. Book: Verity by Colleen Hoover My book of the month for November (which will come out in December due to this month’s Thanksgiving post) is Verity by Colleen Hoover. I won’t share too many details here because I’ll be sharing them next week, but I will say that this book had me reading on the edge for the entire 336 pages. It’s a different beat than what Hoover typically writes – romance, but she truly mastered the thriller genre. Be sure to come back next week for an in-depth review on Verity or just go buy the book now because you won’t regret it. Verity - By Colleen Hoover : Target Makeup item: L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara I have a lot of mascara in my make-up drawer. And I’m ...
